Jill’s 2014 Book List

2013 felt like a reading disaster for me.  I got nowhere near my goal of sixty books.  Let’s just say I ended up choosing quality over quantity.  Really, I ended up choosing exercise over reading.  This year may be similar, so I’m going to opt for setting my book goal a bit lower for 2014, at forty books, but I reserve the right to change the number if things are going very well (or very poorly) on the reading front.

The first book I finished in 2014 was Crime and Punishment, but I’m leaving that in the 2013 list since I only read about thirty pages of it in 2014.

I don’t think the words “reading disaster” can be used to describe a year that included Anna Karenina, The Portrait of a Lady, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and One Hundred Years of Solitude. Just saying.

I suppose you have a point. High on quality, very low on quantity. This year I hope to strike a balance between the two.
